Another Nissan Laptop from NEC

Posted by PitBoss On November - 13 - 2007

Ok the X-Trail inspired laptop was pretty good. It looked tough, had a water proof case and was functional. But a Nissan Micra inspired laptop? Well if it’s as cute as the Micra, and as minimalist as the Micra can be, then why not? I mean a laptop inspired by a car has to resemble the car right? The problem is NEC must have been on the wrong page of the Nissan brochure when they decided to come up with this Micra inspired laptop –

Nissan X-Trail Inspired Laptop

Posted by PitBoss On November - 13 - 2007

The latest accessory for the Nissan X-Trail will come from NEC. No it’s not a wide-screen display, Video or Audio system. None of the above please! No, for the X-Trail NEC will release a laptop based on the popular cross-over.

Will it be a rebadged laptop like the Acer Ferrari and Asus Lamborghini offerings? Definitely not! NEC will be building a laptop to match the attitude and purposefulness of the X-Trail. Based on the 12.1 inch Lavie G Type J laptop, NEC will add custom paneling in the same red paint as the X-Trail, a palm rest with X-Trail logo and a waterproof nylon case built from the same material as the X-Trail’s seats. Plus the owner will automatically gain membership to a Nissan website where they can buy more X-Trail branded gear.

Nissan Intima Concept

Posted by PitBoss On November - 11 - 2007

The Nissan Intima concept car is Nissan’s take on modern living – and very modern it is. It’s also a large concept car, comparable to the size of a Mercedes S Class. With a clean, sleek and stylish look it tends to hint at a more Infiniti production car than a Nissan Maxima replacement. Plus it’s far too large to be in the same class as the Maxima. So could this be the next Infiniti Q? Well if the demo Intima from the 40th Tokyo Auto Show is anything to go by, this concept looks almost ready for production. No details yet on the powerplant for the Intima – V8 RWD anyone?

GT-R Back in Action

Posted by PitBoss On November - 10 - 2007

It’s been four years since the GT-R last competed in the JGTC when it won the championship in 2003. Now Nissan has been spied testing the track version of the GT-R and it looks like Batman has a new car. In all black livery, the body is completely carbon fibre, the GT-R surely fits the part as a Batmobile but doesnt need a jet engine to get it going fast. With a new 4.5 Liter V8 engine the GT-R will have 500HP and 510NM of torque. That’s plenty fast for a normally aspirated engine and without turbo lag too! Makes you wonder what they’ll use for the GT-R V-Spec and V-Spec II? Lets hope that Nissan has plans of taking on Le Mans with this car as well, as we predict it will be very competetive.

12 Year Model Car

Posted by PitBoss On November - 10 - 2007

Here’s a pretty old video of Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) and no it’s a not about a 12 year old model car, but rather a model car that took 12 years to build! Why so long? Well if you had to scale down every measurement of the car and build every component including the molds from scratch, I’m sure it’d take you 12 years too! Yes, every single component was designed and built from scratch based on the original full scale Ferrari 312PV. Everything works – electricals, suspension, brakes, transmission and even the 12 cylinder engine. The transmission has 4 forward gears and one reverse and every single gear works. Absolutely amazing for one person to create such a model.

Watch the video and half-way through, listen to the engine – Ferrari music on a small scale. Absolutely brilliant!
